Joanna Johnson is the founder of Slate Falls Press, an independent publishing company that is known for distinctive, craft-centered storytelling and design. Her work has been published in Knitty, Piecework, Knitscene, Jane Austen Knits, Spin-Off, Sockupied, Farm & Fiber Knits, and Knitting Traditions magazines. She has a BA in Literature from Drew University and has greatly enjoyed writing the stories and designing the knitting and sewing patterns for their children's books. She has taught fiber arts at the Madison Knitting Guild, Scotts Bluff Valley Fiber Arts Fair, Boulder Handweaver’s Guild, Loopy Ewe Spring Fling, and various local yarn shops and her craft school, Spool Cottage. Joanna has also taught online for Interweave Workshops and was featured on Knitting Daily TV.
Eric has a BFA in commercial design from Kutztown University. After working for three decades as a signwriter, muralist, and graphic artist, he has greatly enjoyed returning to his childhood love of drawing by illustrating Phoebe's Sweater, Freddie's Blanket, Phoebe's Birthday, and Henry's Hat. He has taught Illustration Workshops online for Craftsy and in-person at schools and Fiber Arts Fairs throughout the country. His whimsical illustrations have brought joy to people of all ages.
