Joanna Johnson is the founder of Slate Falls Press, an independent publishing company that is known for distinctive, craft-centered storytelling and handmade design style. Joanna Johnson learned to knit as a child from her mother and grandma, worked as a living history museum artisan in high school and college, and fell headlong into fiber arts after finishing her BA in Literature at Drew University. She is the author of 8 craft books including: Phoebe's Sweater, Freddie's Blanket, Phoebe's Birthday, Henry's Hat, Green Gables Knits, Sherlock Knits, Emma Knits, and Little Women Knits. Joanna has taught fiber arts at the Madison Knitting Guild, Scotts Bluff Valley Fiber Arts Fair, Boulder Handweaver’s Guild, Loopy Ewe Spring Fling, Northern Colorado Weaving Guild, and various local yarn shops such as Ewe Count, Wild Purls, and Your Daily Fiber. Joanna was featured on PBS Knitting Daily TV and has also taught online for Interweave Workshops and DVDs. Her work has been published in Jane Austen Knits, Spin-Off, Knitting Traditions, Knitty, Farm and Fiber Knits, Knitscene, and Piecework magazines.
Eric has a BFA in commercial design from Kutztown University. After working for four decades as a signwriter, muralist, and graphic artist, he has greatly enjoyed returning to his childhood love of drawing by illustrating Phoebe's Sweater, Freddie's Blanket, Phoebe's Birthday, and Henry's Hat. He has taught Illustration Workshops online for Craftsy and in-person at preschools, elementary schools, tattoo shops, and Fiber Arts Fairs throughout the country. His whimsical illustrations have brought joy to people of all ages. His books have been reviewed in Piecework, Interweave Knits, Denver Post, Knitty, Living Crafts, Yarn Market News, Knit 'N Style, Knitting Today, Model Life, and Stitch magazines.
