We are over the moon to announce our first Fall Craft Camp here at Spool Cottage!
Craft Camp will be on Saturday, October 17. Attendees can attend a morning workshop, an afternoon workshop, or both. Everyone is invited to gather together between noon and 1 pm for our Soup Party and instructor pop up shop, we will be providing homemade scratch cooked soups from our garden, fresh bread and baked goods, and other yummy snacks. Workshop tickets also includes a canvas craft tote and a merit badge. We want this day to be a stress free and fun day for you to ground yourselves in the cozy energy of our creative community!

Learn to mix natural, eco friendly cleaners from your kitchen, for your kitchen. Craft & take home your own herbal sprays and scrubs! $10 materials fee to be collected by the instructor at the start of the workshop.
Hand-Stitched Book Binding with Laurel Barr
October 17 from 9 am till 1 pm, lunch included with workshop
Learn to create a hand stitched book from scratch with new and repurposed papers! We will provide everything you need to create a book but feel free to bring your own books/papers/pages! $5 materials fee to be collected by the instructor at the start of the workshop.
Beginning Freestyle Creative Weaving with Judy Brown
October 17 from 9 am till 1 pm, lunch included with workshop
Learn Basic Weaving techniques using simple forms or materials, your yarn or ours! Fees include a 2 looms to bring home with you. $10 materials fee to be collected by the instructor at the start of the workshop.
Learn to Make a Turkey Wing Broom with Hannah Hostak
October 17 from noon till 4 pm, lunch included with workshop
Connect with the traditional craft of broommaking in this three hour class. Students will learn the basics of broom craft by crafting a turkey wing style handbroom. The handcrafted brooms made in this class will be suitable for sweeping, decoration, or both! This class is for beginners.
Please read the following regarding physical requirements: Broommaking is a physically strenuous craft and requires moderate upper body strength as well as moderate hand dexterity and strength. Students will also be using their feet to control their foot treadle. This class will be mostly seated. $15 materials fee to be collected by the instructor at the start of the workshop.
Suitable footwear: Tennis shoes, boots, etc. Students may find it more difficult if wearing shoes that aren’t secured to their feet such as flip flops. Students are advised to wear long pants while working with broomcorn, as skin irritation can occur.
Drop Spindle Spinning with Sheron Buchele Rowland
October 17 from noon till 4 pm, lunch included with workshop
Discover the timeliness art of drop-spindle spinning. Learn the basics of how to draft and spin wool fiber into your own handmade yarn. Option to buy your own spinning kit for $20 which includes your own drop spindle, one ounce of wool, and a handsewn bag.
Shuttle Tatting Lace with Laurel Barr

Wooly Doodle Embroidery with Joanna Johnson
October 17 from noon till 4 pm, lunch included with workshop
Learn to embroider whimsical designs! Feel free to bring your own sweater to embroider onto, fees include needles, wool thread, and fabric. $5 materials fee to be collected by the instructor at the start of the workshop.
